A PROPERTY in Chester that was considered too unsafe for internal viewings sold for more than double its guide price at auction.
Competition was fierce for 36 Ermine Road, with the hammer falling down on £159,000, considerably higher than the guide of £65,000 plus.
The three-bedroom terraced house, which sold in partnership with Belvoir, exceeded all expectations and proved condition was no deterrent.
It was one of a number of properties to be sold during a day-long live streamed auction run by SDL Property Auctions.
Managing director and auctioneer Andrew Parker said: “This was our penultimate auction event of the year but there were no signs of demand slowing down, and this type of property will always be popular, with the need for refurbishment providing the opportunity to add value and the style being ever sought-after on the rental market.”
SDL Property Auctionswill hold its final auction event of the year on Friday, December 18.
