Christmas is going to be a little different this year, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

Many of our normal traditions will have to be cancelled or altered in order to adapt to social distancing rules.

However, Warrington has also been placed in tier 2 meaning that many events and venues can still go ahead this December.

This means that we can still embark on some festive activities and Christmas tradition.

From a virtual visit to Lapland to Christmassy drive-in cinema screenings,  here are five festive events you can take part in this month.

It features a live feed to Santa’s Grotto, allowing your kids to speak to the big man himself in real time.

This virtual event is run by Appleton resident, Lucy Appleton.

She spoke to the Warrington Guardian earlier this month and said she didn’t want children to miss out on the chance to see Santa this year, creating the event for parents who are worried about their children catching the coronavirus.

Best of all, there is also the option to get your kids a gift, which will be sent to your home after the experience.
