WARRINGTON Round Table will once again be bringing Santa and his elves to South Warrington this December.

The team felt it was important to continue the tradition and spread some Christmas cheer but have implemented additional safety measures.

In a change to previous years, they will not be doing door to door collections, but residents can still donate online at justgiving.com/crowdfunding/warrington-roundtable.

Santa and his team will be driving their usual routes, playing festive music and waving at anyone who fancies coming to their door to see them.

Chairman Iain Richardson explained: "It’s been a difficult year for everyone.

"We didn’t feel comfortable asking people in South Warrington to come to their doors and donate for our collections for obvious reasons.

"We know from the positive feedback we get each year how much seeing Santa on his rounds means to the community and we felt we couldn’t let everyone down either.

"For some, it is the start of Christmas festivities and we won’t disappoint!

"We will be taking all precautions so we can keep you and ourselves safe, such as face masks and extra cleaning.

"We ask you follow social distancing guidelines when you do see us."

Santa and his sleigh will be doing his usual routes this year so look out for him in Grappenhall on the evenings of December 7-9.

He will be in Stockton Heath on the evenings of December 14-16, and Walton and Appleton on the evenings of December 21-23.
