A DELIVERY driver was kidnapped by robbers before finally being freed nearly 20 miles away from the scene of his carjacking.

The man was parked up on Keckwick Lane in Daresbury shortly after 7.30am on Saturday, November 21, when two unknown offenders approached the white van.

Both men got into the vehicle and threatened the driver.

He was then driven a distance of around 17 miles before he was dropped off near to the junction of the M57 and the East Lancs Road in Liverpool.

The robbers made off in his van with its contents.

One of the suspects is described as being white, between 30 and 40 years old, 6ft2 or 6ft3 in height and of a slim build.

He was wearing a black or dark green top with the hood up and a hat, as well as a dark grey Berghaus jacket.

The second man was also white and 5ft11 or 6ft in height with a large build, and was in his early 30s.

This attacker was wearing a black hat, a black hoodie with the hood up and a black waterproof jacket.

Detective constable Amanda Antrobus said: “The victim was left shocked and injured following his ordeal and was taken to hospital to be assessed.

“Thankfully, it’s not thought that his injuries are serious.

“The area of Keckwick Lane is quite busy, even at that time in the morning with dog walkers and joggers, so I’m particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw suspicious activity or two men getting into a white van.
