POLICE have given an update on their investigation after they found heroin and crack cocaine wrapped inside a Kinder Egg tub following the arrest of a drugs suspect.

Officers on patrol in Huyton on Saturday afternoon arrested a 47-year-old woman from St Helens after a stop check of a vehicle.

Officers spoke to the woman on Limcombe Road who was searched under the Misuse of Drugs act.

Police say that they recovered Class A drugs at the scene.

The woman was also suspected of being disqualified from driving and without insurance.

Officers seized the vehicle while the woman was taken to custody.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of drugs supply, driving while disqualified and without insurance.

While in custody, police allege the woman removed a Kinder Egg tub which had been hidden and that wraps of heroin and crack cocaine found inside.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman confirmed that the woman had been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
