POLICE are still holding a man who was arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died at a property in Prescot in custody.
Detectives arrested a 60-year-old man after police were called in the early hours of this morning, Monday, November 16 to a property on Tinling Close, Prescot.
At around 1.20am, emergency services were called to Tinling Close to reports of a woman in her 50s being found seriously injured.
She was confirmed dead at around 1.40am, say police.
The woman will be formally identified and a post mortem examination is to be carried out.
Her family is being supported by specialist officers.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said this afternoon (Tuesday) the suspect remains in custody.

After the woman's death on Monday, a police spokesman said: "A 60-year-old man from Prescot was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and has been taken to a police station for questioning. Officers remain at the location this morning to continue our investigation.
