THESE are the areas of Warrington that have seen the highest number of new coronavirus cases in the space of a week.

This is according to an interactive map developed and published on the Government’s online coronavirus dashboard, which also shows the rate of new cases in each area.

The map is broken down into ‘middle layer super output areas’ – a system used by the Office for National Statistics that is slightly larger than a postcode area.

Data used covers a seven-day period and has been sourced from Public Health England, based on pillars one and two of the Government's testing programme.

At the time of writing, the map displayed the number and rate of new cases confirmed between October 18 and October 24.

Data for the most recent period is excluded as it is incomplete, does not reflect the true number of cases and is likely to be revised.

According to the map, Kingswood and Whittle Hall was the area of Warrington with the most confirmed cases after 60 people tested positive.

This was followed by Hood Manor and Sankey Bridges (54) and Callands and Old Hall (53).
