THERE are currently more than 100 coronavirus patients at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The latest figures released by the trust showed that as of this afternoon, Monday, there are a total of 109 inpatients who had tested positive for Covid-19.

And 14 of these are in intensive care.

All of the trust's coronavirus patients are cared for at Warrington Hospital in order to keep Halton Hospital free from Covid-19.

Since the start of the pandemic, 159 people have died at WHH having contracted coronavirus while 523 have been discharged after receiving treatment.

As of Friday, Runcorn and Widnes had the 18th highest rate of transmission of any local authority area in the country.

The most recently available figures for the seven days leading up to October 12 showed that there were 512 new cases in Halton, or 395.6 for every 100,000 residents.

In the previous week, this number stood at 361.6 per 100,000 – with 468 positive tests in total.
