It is at least the second crash at the spot in six weeks after a collision in September saw an eight-year-old boy taken to hospital.
The blackspot has been the scene of several collisions over recent years.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We were called to a report of a collision involving a grey Nissan Qashqai and a blue Kia Picanto on Saturday (October 17).
"Emergency services were called just before midday to Hard Lane near its junction with Greenfield Road.
"North West Ambulance Service staff checked over the driver of the Nissan for a minor injury."
