THE owners of a town centre restaurant have been given permission to create a smokehouse.
Eddie Dean, owner of The Dean on Barrow Street, has been granted planning permission to create a new venue.
The new premises, to be situated at 33 Barrow Street is to be called The Smokehouse By The Dean.
Husband and wife team Eddie and Victoria Zsigmond Dean realised their dream when they opened The Dean in March 2019.
The pair transformed the former Willowbrook Hospice shop with the aim of bringing more people into the town.
Now they have received formal permission for their second venue in the town centre.

Plans had been submitted to the council in August seeking permission for The Smokehouse By the Dean.
Proposals include for outside seating and the installation of planters, heaters, canopy and window alterations
There are also plans in the pipeline for a third venue, a wine bar, called The Dean Scene.
After the plans were officially passed, in a post on its Facebook page, the owners said: "We’re delighted to say that permission has been granted for The Smokehouse By The Dean by St Helens Council.
"Even in a pandemic, we continue to invest in the town. We can’t wait to open the doors once development has taken place."
