A GANG of burglars forced their way into a house and threatened the occupants with a screwdriver.

Five men – one of whom was armed with the weapon – raided the address on Marcien Way in Widnes at around 9.15pm on Sunday, September 27

They demanded money and jewellery before searching the property and stealing jewellery and a wallet.

It is believed that they then fled the scene in a red Volkswagen Golf.

All five burglars were dressed in black and were wearing black gloves and balaclavas.

Detective constable Nicola Dolan said: “Thankfully the victims were not injured, but were left shaken by their ordeal.

“I would urge you to contact police if you saw suspicious activity around the time of the incident, or if you have any information that may help our investigation.

“That also goes for anyone who was in the area and may have dashcam footage that may help us.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number IML815222, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
