FORMER Saints Academy junior Joe Sharratt has signed for League 1 club Barrow Raiders.
Sharratt's promising career was put on hold in December 2018 when he was the victim of an attack by nightclub doormen which left him with a bleed on the brain.
At the time of the attack the young centre had represented Lancashire Schoolboys against Australian Schoolboys with distinction and was hoping to represent England the following weekend.
Sharratt returned to light training with Saints Under 19s squad in Spring 2019 under close medical scrutiny.
In March this year he joined the Raiders at training with a view to getting himself back playing.
The three-quarter has shown enough to impress the coaching staff and earn a one year deal.
