POPULAR venue The Hayloft has reopened its doors after temporarily closing due to one of its customers testing positive for coronavirus.

The cafe in Bold Heath, which opened in 2017, said on Sunday it was closing for a minimum of 48 hours as a precaution.

The customer was reported to have visited the coffee shop on Thursday lunchtime and anyone affected is to be contacted via the track and trace service.

The Sandy Lane venue confirmed its reopening on Facebook.

An announcement read: "The Hayloft will be re-opening tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8.

"After obtaining official advice we are happy to say that we will be re-opening our doors tomorrow. The venue has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

"The systems, procedures and social distancing that we have in place do mean that any risk is minimal and as always we have hand sanitising stations for customers as well as our staff.

"We thank everyone for their words of support and look forward to seeing you again soon. The Hayloft team x".
