A SUSPECT has been charged after a serious assault in Widnes.
The incident occurred on Dean Street at around 10pm on Friday, July 31, with a man in his 20s having suffered serious injuries.
He was rushed to hospital by ambulance, but has since been released after receiving treatment.
Mark Collins was arrested in the Appleton area at around 5pm on Wednesday, August 5, in connection with the attack.
The 33-year-old, of Albert Road, has since been charged with wounding with intent.
He appeared before Warrington Magistrates Court yesterday, Thursday, in order to face these charges.
Collins will now be brought before Liverpool Crown Court next month, and has been remanded into custody until that date.
