A SUSPECT has been arrested after a man was seriously assaulted at a bar in Runcorn.

Police were called to Alchemy on High Street at around 1.45am on Saturday, July 25, after receiving reports of an altercation.

Paramedics treated the 21-year-old victim at the scene after he suffered serious injuries, before taking him to hospital.

His mobile phone, a Huawei P6, went missing during the disturbance.

Cheshire Police have confirmed today, Wednesday, that a 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a section 18 assault in connection with the incident.

He remains in custody at present.

Detective constable John Ellis earlier said: “We’re still piecing together events from that night, and are appealing to anyone who saw the incident to contact police.

“During the incident, the victim’s mobile phone also went missing.

“If anyone found a Huawei P6 in the pub or High Street, please make contact with police.”
