NORTHWICH is set to welcome yet another coffee shop after Costa Coffee was granted permission for a new site in Lostock Gralam.

The coffee giant has seen its plans to build a new drive-thru branch off Manchester Road at Cheshire Business Park approved by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The café, complete with parking spaces to accommodate 38 cars, will be open from 5am to 11pm Monday to Sunday.

Applicant Lane End Construction Developments says that it will create five full time and eight part time jobs.

Northwich Guardian:

Planning documents submitted as part of the application state: “The unit will sell coffee and other hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, pastries, accessories and other related products.

“There will be retail display units and a food counter, together with internal seating.

“There will be no cooking facilities, though some sandwiches can be toasted on request.

“All food is prepared and packaged off-site and delivered to the unit each morning.”

A transport assessment was also carried out for the site which adds that there would be no severe increase in traffic.

It says: “The development will not have a material impact on the operational performance of the local highway network.

“The development is ideally located for and will promote sustainable modes of travel and reduce the number of car trips to local facilities.”
