AN 18 year old man has been rescued after being stuck in mud near the Silver Jubilee bridge on Mersey Road in Widnes.
At around 10.30pm yesterday, Monday, evening five fire engines attended from Widnes, Penketh, Runcorn, Warrington and Lymm
A water rescue sled, inflatable pathway and other specialist equipment was used to help rescue the man who was then handed into the care of paramedics as a precaution.
He is not believed to have sustained any injuries.
Crews were at the scene for approximately 40 minutes.
