THE wait for the new £11 million Warrington Market is almost over.

The town centre site will open on June 15 and we went for a visit this afternoon, Tuesday, to see how it is looking.

The current, temporary market building will close to customers this Saturday as traders prepare to relocate to the purpose-built facility, which will be opened in phases.

The open plan building – which features a mezzanine floor, escalators, a spacious food court and an outdoor terrace – is the latest addition to the council's flagship £142.5 million Time Square development.

Council leader Cllr Russ Bowden says he thinks the new market will be a 'tremendous addition' to the town centre.

Here are the latest pictures from the site.
