Award-winning family friendly Cheshire attraction The Ice Cream Farm, has launched a ‘socially distanced’ way to enjoy their 30 flavours of ice cream.

The Ice Cream Farm in Tattenhall, near Chester, has found an innovative way for people to enjoy their Cheshire real dairy ice cream once more.

Launching tomorrow (Saturday, May 30), ‘The Ice Cream Farm Drive-Thru’ will offer 30 flavours of ice cream including old favourites, mint choc chip, honeycomb and raspberry ripple, as well as new additions such as brownie, jammy dodger and crème egg.

Opening between noon and 4pm daily, the ‘Drive-Thru’ will operate a ‘one in one out’ system, where cars will queue to reach an ‘order point’ where a number will be given for customers to ring to place their order.

Their ice cream will be ready to purchase at the collection point where contactless payment will be taken. There are hopes that the concept will become a permanent fixture at The Ice Cream Farm.

Director of The Ice Cream Farm, Jonathan Fell, said: “We have seen other attractions and restaurants offering a ‘click and collect’ type offer but we wanted to explore how we could offer something a little bit different whilst still adhering to the guidelines.

"After a lot of Zoom calls, we have managed to design something that provides our visitors with almost the full range of our ice cream whilst maintaining strict health and safety practices for both our team and customers.

“A ‘Drive-Thru’ concept is something that I have always thought would be a welcome addition to the attraction.

"We know that it can be a little off-putting for the ‘ice cream only’ customer to visit us during peak season due to the popularity. A ‘Drive-Thru concept may be the solution as it will assist us in satisfying the ice cream enthusiast, as well as the families who want to come for the full ‘play’ experience.

“By providing a facility such as this, it should relieve the pressure inside the park and improve the visitor experience for all.

"The business model will have to adapt to survive post Covid-19 and this only is the first step of a wider strategy.”

‘The Ice Cream Farm Drive-Thru’ will be seven days a week, noon-4pm. Thirty flavours of ice cream will be able to purchase by the scoop, as well as take home tubs, milkshakes and cold drinks.

The Ice Cream Farm’s other facilities are currently closed due to Covid-19 but to keep updated, follow The Ice Cream Farm on Facebook or Instagram or visit www.theicecreamfarm.co.uk.
