POLICE in Helsby say they will be regularly patrolling Helsby Hill, amid reports of large groups of people having barbecues there.
There have also been reports of people taking cannabis at the beauty spot.
As well as being a potential fire hazard, large groups of people congregating in public are currently not permitted under the coronavirus lockdown regulations.
Currently people are allowed to meet one person outside their household in public, as long as they obey social distancing guidelines by remaining at least six feet apart (two metres).
Writing on social media, Helsby Police said: "PCSO Davies has been made aware of ongoing issues at Helsby Hill.
"Reports suggest large groups gathering having BBQs and taking cannabis.
"PCSO Davies was diverted last night to other incidents. However, PCSO Davies and colleagues will be patrolling regularly."
