A HUGE plume of smoke can be seen in the sky across Warrington after a fire broke out in Newton-le-Willows.
Firefighters are currently tackling the blaze on Sankey Valley Industrial Estate.
They were called to the scene shortly after 11am, with the blaze measuring around 30m by 15m.
Around 20 engines have attended the incident.
A large volume of smoke is being produced by the fire and nearby residents and businesses are warned to keep their windows and doors closed.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service have declared it a major incident, with crews from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service also assisting.

Trains between Warrington Bank Quay and Manchester Oxford Road are also suspended as a result due to the fire being located near to the railway line.

Natasha Worrall snapped this shot while out on a bike ride in Burtonwood.
Residents in areas including Culcheth, Great Sankey, Dallam, Orford, Cinnamon Brow, Padgate, the town centre and Woolston also reported seeing the smoke.
