A SEVEN year old girl from Runcorn has raised £1,040 in less than a week for Whiston and St Helens Hospitals Charity by doing the 15K over three days challenge.

Taking inspiration from Captain Tom, Aneeka Goodall who attends St Augustine's RC Primary School, decided that she too wanted to raise much needed funds to aid the NHS.

Proud mum Rachel said: "We were sat in the garden talking about Captain Tom and Aneeka decided she also wanted to help. She decided she wanted to raise £1,000 for the NHS with the three days 15K walks."

Aneeka chose Whiston Hospital because of the amazing way they have looked after some of her family members.

She has so far walked all three of the days this week - the last being yesterday, down the Astmoor bus way onto the canal and back down to Castlefields.

"We thought it would be impossible to get t-shirts printed for the walks but clothing brand Ragdollz Katie Humphrey custom-made three t-shirts and a hoodie for Aneeka."

Rachel added: "I am absolutely beaming that a seven year old came to think of this all by herself without any prompting."
