FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a bizarre incident this afternoon, Wednesday, after the sun set fire to a garden fence.
Two fire engines from Lymm and Runcorn fire stations were dispatched to Rowan Rise in Barnton shortly after 12.15pm.
On arrival, the crews found a fence panel in the back garden of one of the properties to be well alight.
Firefighters extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet and were in attendance for around half an hour.
The fire is believed to have been caused by the sun shining onto silver reflective panels and reflecting onto the fence.
