DURING the Covid-19 crisis, many people are turning their hand to learning new skills as they spend every day at home in lockdown.

However, there are some things that can’t be beaten – like the comfort of a good Friday night chippy.

With businesses being hit hard by the quarantine measures, and many in the food and drink industry struggling to stay afloat, the Warrington Guardian have been supporting our town’s eateries with the #ThereWithYou initiative.

Naturally, many people are worried about the standards of hygiene both at home and outside, with government advice being to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds after going outside.

That’s why we’ve compiled a list of fish and chip shops still open that secured a five out of five scores in their latest Food Standards Agency inspection.

Some are operating on reduced hours, whilst others are offering click and collect or delivery services throughout the crisis.

Choosing a delivery option is the best way to get your fish and chips but if you do decide to go out, remember to observe the government’s social distancing rules – keep at least two metres between yourself and the nearest person.
