CHILDREN in Halton have been brightening the working day for staff at Halton Haven by sending them pictures with inspirational messages.

The hospice, in Murdishaw, Runcorn, has been thrilled to receive pictures, jokes and even peace doves with special messages.

"It has been an absolute joy to get these, whether they have been posted online or arrived in the mail," said chief executive Viv Culleton.

"It’s lovely to think that even the youngest members of our community are thinking of us and sharing their best wishes with staff who are working extremely hard under these unprecedented circumstances.

"The pictures and messages have brought a tear to the eye of more than one member of staff and we have been deeply touched by them.2

The peace doves were sent in by pupils from Halebank C of E Primary School in Widnes and contained messages such as `keep smiling all day long’ and `you shine like a star’.

Children also came up with fundraising ideas for the hospice.

Any child who wishes to share a picture or message can do so via the hospice Facebook page at facebook.com/haltonhavenhospice/.
