COMMUNITY and children’s centres in Halton will close from 5pm today in a bid to fight the coronavirus outbreak.
As part of its ongoing response to the changing covid-19 situation, Halton Borough Council has taken the decision to close all of its community centres to the public until Sunday, April 26.
The centres to be closed include:
- Upton Community Centre, Bechers, Hough Green, Widnes
- Ditton Community Centre, Dundalk Road, Widnes
- Castlefields Community Centre, Village Square, Castlefields, Runcorn
- Grangeway Community Centre, Grangeway, Runcorn
- Murdishaw Community Centre, Barnfield Avenue, Runcorn
In addition, the Upton, Windmill Hill, Halton Brook and Ditton children’s centres will also close, with all existing activities planned cancelled.
The council says its will take the decision on when to reopen the buildings based on government advice.
