HALTON Direct Link Offices in Runcorn and Widnes have closed their doors to the public today until further notice.

In response to government advice on COVID-19 the council issued a statement saying they apologised for any inconvenience but had taken the necessary steps to protect their customers and staff.

The Municipal Building, Runcorn Town Hall and Rutland House will also be closed to the public until further notice.

“The service will continue to operate with staff dealing with enquiries on the telephone, by e-mail and via the website.

“There is so much you can do on our website, such as pay bills, report environmental issues, view planning applications, check bin collection dates, and use our Contact Us page to get in touch.”

The news follows on from other building closures including The Brindley Theatre and Kingsway Leisure Centre.
