An online support network has been created on social media to assist people during the coronavirus pandemic.

Wirral COVID-19 mutual aid group has been set up on Facebook for Wirral Residents who may be either in self isolaton or worried about COVID-19.

The group has already attracted over 8,000 members.

On the group page, it says: "With stores running low on supplies of basic essensials, this means that foodbanks and those in need or vulnerable will be worst hit.

"The idea of the group is for Wirral residents to support each other either by arranging Skype calls/phone calls etc. to avoid feeling isolated and alone, advising on where has more stock or offering to share surplus food with those who have nothing.
