A POLICE investigation has been launched following a fire at the building of a former secondary school.
Fire services were rushed Ravenswood Avenue on Sunday evening to tackle a blaze at the previous site of Rock Ferry High School.
Four fire engines and an aerial appliance arrived on the scene shortly after 8pm and dealt with the fire before Merseyside Police released a statement.
It said: “The building is currently under renovation and was empty at the time. There have been no reports of anyone being injured.
“The fire is being treated as suspected malicious ignition and CCTV and house-to-house enquiries are being carried out in the local area.”
