A man has been taken to hospital after emergency services rushed to Woolwich Dockyard station following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and the man has been taken to hospital with a head injury.

Southeastern tweeted around 1:30pm today (Wednesday, February 26) that emergency services were dealing with an incident between Charlton and Slade Green, and Network Rail were forced to cut the power of at the train station.

Trains on the Woolwich line were either delayed or diverted, causing disruption between London and Slade Green until 4pm when the train operator announced that the line had fully reopened.

People on social media were speculating as to the cause of the delays and police presence, but the British Transport Police released a statement revealing that there had been a reported casualty on the tracks.

A spokesperson said: "British Transport Police were called at 1:12pm on 26/02 to Woolwich Dockyard station following a report of a casualty on the tracks.

"A man suffered a head injury and has been taken to hospital. The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
