A JUNIOR rugby league team have raised hundreds of pounds for St Rocco’s Hospice.
Woolston Rovers u12 Golds held a Santa Dash shortly before Christmas in memory of Rachael Thompson, mum of player Samuel Dickenson.

And the team recently visited the Bewsey hospice to hand over a total of £565.64 raised.
Rachael, from Padgate, died at the age of 43 in January 2019 after her third battle with cancer.

Head coach Phil Lucy said: “Our target amount to raise was £250 and we have more than doubled that, which is incredible.
“St Rocco’s will forever be a charity close to our hearts within the team and we will be fundraising again for St Rocco’s later in the year.”
