MEMBERS of Warrington's Slovakian community were visited by the country's ambassador and welcomed him with a day of traditional activities.
Lubomir Rehak met pupils from the Peace Centre branch and the wider Slovak community across the region.
Slovak School Manchester is a complementary education provider and their children's folk group, Slovačik, welcomed the ambassador in traditional dresses.
Slovačik is the only folk group its kind in north west.
He received a traditional welcome with Slovakian bread and salt followed by a school presentation and class visits.
Mr Rehack then gave a speech to the Slovak community and finished the visit with a question and answer session.
Sandra Nazarejova, from the school, said: "It's been a privilege to welcome and host ambassador of Slovak Republic in the UK at our school.
"We put on a buffet in Slovakian style with traditional Slovak food.
"Our rhythmic music and traditional costumes caught the eyes and ears of other communities in building."
