A MAN who assaulted a policeman on Boxing Day has been handed a community order.
Michael Warburton, of Richmond Drive, Leigh assaulted the officer at Swinton custody suite.
The 51-year-old, who pleaded guilty to the charge, must complete a nine-month alcohol rehabilitation course.

He was fined £120, ordered to pay £300 in compensation, a £90 victim services surcharge fee and £85 in court costs.
Warburton appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court yesterday, Monday.
