A police investigation was launched into the incident that happened at the busy junction, which has recently undergone significant changes to its layout and now includes traffic lights and pedestrian crossings.
Police have been gathering witness statements and examining CCTV footage as they attempt to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The driver stopped at the scene.
Police at the scene after last month's collision
Traffic officers and forensic investigators spent several hours examining the scene of the collision on Wednesday morning.
Last year road engineers worked on a complete redesign of the roundabout, creating a traffic signal-controlled junction.
St Helens Council said the redesign's purpose was to create a more balanced and measured traffic flow, reduce peak time queues and improve poor pedestrian and cyclist facilities.
