A CAFE in Widnes is celebrating the joy of reading with a special World Book Day celebration.
The Gingerbread Tea House, in Albert Road, is inviting children to come to the cafe dressed as their favourite book character on Thursday, March 5.
There will be free homemade gingerbread biscuits and a costume competition, with a mini afternoon tea as the prize.
Crafts will also be on offer for children to create their own bookmark, as well as a visit from author Gemma Evans.
The Gingerbread Tea House is already helping young people to read more with a book exchange to promote the power of books.
You can find out more information about the event by visiting The Gingerbread Tea House on Facebook.
