AFTER a mild start to the year, It's definitely feeling much more like winter this week.
After Storm Ciara swept across the country with gusts of up to 90mph in some parts of the country, the Met Office is now issuing a snow and ice warning.
While parts of Lancashire, Cheshire East and Greater Manchester are predicted to see snow as early as tomorrow, Tuesday, the warning for Warrington, Halton, most of Cheshire and Merseyside is in place from the early hours of Wednesday to lunchtime.
Drivers are being warned of icy patches on some untreated roads and railway lines could be affected.
However forecasters believe it won't last long.
A Met Office spokesman added: "Further snow showers are likely on Wednesday morning.
"These are likely to lead to further accumulations of a few cm of snow over ground above around 150 metres.
"Any snow accumulations over lower ground are likely to be temporary.
"Icy surfaces will be an additional hazard."
Sunday was an extreme #weather day across the UK due to the passage of #StormCiara. The strongest wind gust recorded at 97mph at Needles Battery on the Isle of Wight.
