A group of gospel singers have been spreading a bit of joy on board a Mersey Ferry on what has become known as 'Blue Monday'.

Liverpool Harmonic Gospel Choir performed a repertoire of contemporary uplifting hits on board the Snowdrop ferry this morning from 8-10am, to the surprise of passengers on board.Wirral Globe:

The free event was organised by Appreciate Group, previously known as Park Group - a leading retail and rewards company, based in Liverpool.

The company has pledged to help spread joy by creating joyful experiences, connecting people to the things in life that they enjoy the most.

The Group has committed to a three-week sponsorship at Mersey Ferries, where they will be spreading joy to the people of Merseyside.

Ian O’Doherty, CEO of Appreciate Group, says of the sponsorship: “We’re really pleased to have partnered with Mersey Ferries on our mission to spread joy to the people of Merseyside, which has been our home since 1967.

“Sponsoring Mersey Ferries seemed like a natural fit for our brand, as the trip between Seacombe and Liverpool symbolises our brand transformation journey, as it links our heritage to our bold plans for the future.

“Under the Appreciate Group banner, we are intent on spreading as much joy as possible, helping millions of consumers to give, celebrate and reward colleagues, friends and family. Kicking our sponsorship of Mersey Ferries off on Blue Monday sets the tone for our mission of bringing smiles to peoples’ faces, even when the so-called January blues might be taking over.

“We hope that commuters onboard the ferry feel joyful and uplifted by the events and activities that we have planned for the rest of our sponsorship, and we’re looking forward to continuing to delight and wow people as the weeks continue.”

The Choir's joyful maiden voyage marks the first in a line of events and activities organised by the group to help spread joy to the people of Merseyside, which has been the company’s home since 1967, when it was established.
