A DEESIDE convenience store is set to be transformed into a new Tesco Express.
Plans to turn the One Stop shop in Connah's Quay into the Tesco branded store were backed by Flintshire Council last week.
It comes after Tesco recently said it planned to open 150 more Express stores over the next three years.
The One Stop business is a subordinate of Tesco after being bought by the supermarket giant in 2003 - and is run separately from the main chain.
Tesco - which holds a five year lease on the premises - has been approached for confirmation of when the newly branded store will open.
A Tesco spokesman said: “We are rebranding our Connah’s Quay One Stop store to a Tesco Express.
"We believe the Express brand will better serve this community, offering a broader range of both branded and Tesco own branded products, as well as more fresh food and food to go.”
