Students studying on the Professional Dance Programme at Cronton Sixth Form entertained a packed out audience at the Cronton Playhouse Theatre with an incredible debut performance of Snowdown.

With an extremely talented cohort of first and second year dancers, the production highlighted the young entertainer’s variety of abilities.

It was also the first at the new Cronton Playhouse for the PDP students and involved a brilliant eclectic playlist with multiple dance styles including lyrical, contemporary, jazz and commercial, with all scenes choreographed by staff, guest choreographers and the students themselves.

Ben Musa, Artistic Director for The Professional Dance Programme, said: “Snowdown was our very first show in the new Cronton Playhouse and it was a fantastic way to kick off our year. We strayed away from our usual narrative production for this one to create a more versatile show to display the amazing talents of our dancers.

“We had an absolute blast working on the show and think that it was the most fun show we have performed. The reaction has been phenomenal.”

The Professional Dance Programme student’s next performance, Siren of the Sea - a dark retelling of the Little Mermaid - is at The Brindley Theatre on Tuesday June 23.
