A MAN was taken to hospital with a wrist injury after being attacked with an axe during a disturbance in Wallasey this morning.
Emergency services were called to Willowcroft Road at around 9.45am to reports of an incident involving three people.
The injured man, in his 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment for what has been described as a non-serious wrist injury.
A 24-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, both from Wallasey, have been arrested on suspicion of affray and taken to a police station for questioning.
A police spokesperson said: "It is believed that one of the suspects had possession of a weapon.
"A small axe was recovered from the scene for forensic enquiries.
"Detectives will continue to conduct house-to-house, CCTV and witness enquiries.
