NEW Brighton lifeboat volunteers will face the Mersey Divers in their New Year's Day Tug O'War tomorrow.
The Lifeboat crew will be hoping for their third win in a row during the annual competition, which takes place at Fort Perch Rock beach at 11.30am.
Mersey Divers will be hoping to chalk up their first victory since the competition began and take the trophy back to the dive club.
The event is free to watch and the perfect chance to get some fresh air following the new year celebrations.
There will also br fundraising volunteers on the beach and the promenade collecting donations for the RNLI.
The charity is facing a Perfect Storm with the volunteer lifeboat crews busier than ever and income down. Your donation could help to save the next life.
Ian Thornton, lifeboat operations manager for New Brighton Lifeboat said: "The competition has been running for the last few years now and every year the number of people coming to show their support has increased.
"This is a great event which shows the community spirit around the New Brighton area."
