LIVERPOOL soul legends The Christians return to The Brindley Theatre, Runcorn, by popular demand next year.

The band - whose hits include Forgotten Town, Ideal World, Born Again, Harvest for the World and Hillsborough charity number one single Ferry Across The Mersey - are at the venue on Saturday, January 25.

They enjoyed huge acclaim in the late '80s and early '90s and are headed by lead singer Garry Christian, described as having "One of the finest voices in pop".

Garry is in better form than ever.

They have recently been on tour with fellow 80s stars Go West, Hue & Cry and Roachford and released their new album WE to critical acclaim.

The group's self-titled debut album was released in October 1987.

Featuring what would become hits Forgotten Town, Ideal World, Harvest for the World and Hooverville, the album shot straight into the charts at number two.
