A SANTA dash in aid of Halton Haven will be held next month - and you can join the hundreds expected to take part.

Participants dressed as Father Christmas will run, jog or walk their way round Victoria Park in Widnes on Sunday, December 1 in what is of the most popular fundraising events of the year.

Halton Haven's senior fundraising manager Chris Andrews said: "It's one of our favourite events with runners of all ages taking part, and it’s quite a sight to see all the Santas lined up at the start.

"We're also very grateful for all the help we receive from Halton Borough Council in putting the event on, and from our event sponsor Quay Pharma."

All those taking part receive a Santa suit to wear for the run of four laps around the park totalling approximately 4.5km. There will be mince pies and a medal at the finish line!

The Santa Dash is a sponsored event and anyone who raises at least £10 in sponsorship - or sponsors themselves £10! - will be entered into a draw to win a brand new LG LED TV.

The draw will be made sometime after the Santa Dash once all sponsorship has been submitted to the Hospice.

Santa Dash registration is £20 for adults (16 years and over) and £10 for children (15 years and under).

Online registration will be open until 12pm on Friday, November 29, after which you will only be able to register on the day and prices will increase by £2 on the day.
