A MAN who got stuck up a tree trying to rescue a cat was led to safety by firefighters yesterday, Saturday.
One fire engine was sent to Bechers in Widnes at around 1.30pm where a man had climbed 20ft and was slipping due to the tree being wet.
The crew used a short extension ladder to bring him and the cat to the ground.
