I love the decorative water features which have appeared around Hale recently, and I think Trafford Council should be applauded for having provided so many of them at absolutely no cost.
I hadn’t realised that the accumulation of autumn leaves, discreetly left over all the grids to prevent any water draining away by mistake, was part of the plan.
I just hope that some rogue council employee doesn’t ruin it by coming along with a road-sweeper or, even worse, one of those gulley-emptying machines.
A few plastic ducks and some strategically-placed bog plants would be the icing on the cake. Maybe Trafford Council could award a contract to provide these, and I’m sure that all council-tax payers would regard this as being just as good value-for-money as we get for all the existing services provided.
