AN investigation is now underway into the cause of a fire in a warehouse building after fire crews worked through the night to tackle the blaze.

Tan House Lane has now reopened after being closed last night.

The alarm was raised just before 4pm yesterday, Tuesday, and residents were warned to close their windows and doors.

At its height five fire engines were sent to battle the flames at the industrial buildinf.

There are no reports of any injuries at this time.

Firefighters eventually left the scene at 12.30pm today, Wednesday.

A Cheshire Fire spokesman said earlier: "Firefighters are currently making good progress in tackling the fire.

"The crews are tackling the blaze in two separate sections using main jets.

"They are also using an aerial appliance to apply water to the fire through the roof of the building.

"There is no requirement for any evacuations at this stage.

"However, residents nearby are advised to stay indoors and keep their windows and doors closed."
