Powys County Council’s top education position has now been advertised.

The council has advertised the post of chief education officer & director of education.

As chief education officer, the successful candidate will be accountable for delivering across the following area:

  • School Improvement and Effectiveness
  • Supporting schools in Financial Management
  • School Access and Organisation
  • Skills and Progression, including Adult and Community Learning
  • Inclusion and Additional Learning Needs
  • Education other than at school, including Pupil Referral Units
  • Youth Services

The successful candidate will lead on the development of Welsh medium educational strategies and operational arrangements to secure high-quality provision and outcomes for learners, in line with the delivery of the council's aims and objectives.

The closing date for applications is Sunday, November 3.
