A PIZZA restaurant and by-the-slice takeaway is hoping to bring a family feel to Bridge Street.

Cheshire Pizza has moved from Warrington Market and is now next to Dead Eyes street food in what is being described as the first signs of a revival for that part of the town centre.

Owner Malgorzata Mrozek said: “With the Time Square development and cinema soon set to open, Bridge Street is going to wake up.

Head chef Konrad Sedziak, who has worked with the likes of Aiden Byrne and at numerous pubs and restaurants including the Fir Grove Hotel and The Rams Head in Grappenhall and Red Lion in Moore, added: “It will change the face of Bridge Street. I think we will see a lot of new businesses opening here as part of the regeneration.”

The Cheshire Pizza team also said they wanted to move from the market’s food court to have more space which has allowed them to expand the menu.

Warrington Guardian:

Alongside pizzas, they offer the likes of soup of the day, paninis, falafel wraps, chimichurri potato which is a Brazilian dish with olive oil, chilli and coriander and focaccia bread as well as freshly squeezed orange juice and smoothies.

Vegan pizzas are also available on request.

Malgorzata, 42, said: “We have a lot more space and facilities here and I cook everything from scratch. I like to feel close to my customers and I’m able to create the experience I want for them here with more choice. It’s a family place. I want it to feel friendly.”

Konrad, from Latchford, added: “We’re open for those who want a quick lunch when they’re working or if people want to spend their time here, they can sit down over a pizza and will be very welcome.”

Malgorzata and Konrad also want to introduce more of a Spanish twist to their food after being inspired by a whistle-stop tour.

Konrad, who has lived in Warrington for 13 years, said: “We travelled around Spain for 10 days looking for new ideas because we want to introduce and bring together a whole range of flavours.

That was what also influenced the style of the restaurant.

Konrad added: “That was Malgorzata’s idea taking inspiration from restaurants in Toledo, Madrid, Costa Brava, Costa del Sol and Alicante. She took pictures of everything from the colour of the walls to the design – there were 1,500 photographs by the end of it.”
