DETECTIVES have issued an e-fit of man they want to speak to after two sex attacks in Runcorn.

At around 10am on Thursday, September 5, a man who was stood in a bus stop in Merlin Close exposed himself to a woman in her 60s.

Less than an hour later, a man fitting his description grabbed a woman in her 30s as she walked along Lodge Lane towards Runcorn Shopping City.

He pulled her into some bushes and attempted to sexually assault her but the woman managed to fight him off.

She then ran to the nearby police station.

Enquiries in relation to the two incidents are ongoing.

Detectives believe that the incidents are linked and as part of their investigation they want to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit and believes that they may know who he is.

They also want to speak to anyone who may CCTV or dashcam footage of anything that may be relevant to the investigation.

Detective constable Dan Williams, of Runcorn Local Policing Unit, said: “We think that the man in the e-fit may have vital information in relation to our investigation into two sexual offences in Runcorn which were committed on the same day.

“The incidents understandably left the victims shaken up and we are determined to establish who was responsible and bring them to justice.

“If you think you recognise the man in the e-fit or know who he is please contact us at Runcorn Police Station.

“The same goes for anyone who has any other information, or CCTV or dashcam footage, that may aid our investigation.

“I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the e-fit to get in touch.”
