THE Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has recently released its annual Good Beer Guide. Here are some of the Warrington area pubs that got the nod:
Albion, Battersby Lane
Victorian pub which still has its original stables and real fires during the colder months. There is regular entertainment including music and comedy.
Lower Angel, Buttermarket Street
A charming community pub with eight changing beers and adorned with memorabilia from the old Walker’s Brewery days.
The Tavern, Church Street
A regular entry in the Guide and friendly sports pub which also doubles as the brew tap for Latchford’s 4Ts brewery.
Appleton Thorn Village Hall
CAMRA National Club of the Year 2019 has an ever changing selection of eight real ales.
Lymm Brewery Tap
Serves Dunham Massey Brewery beers in a former post office, a stone’s throw from the Bridgewater Canal.
Ferry Tavern, Penketh
This popular pub is well known for its beer garden, famous fish and chips and for hosting regular brewery tap takeovers.
The full guide of CAMRA recognised pubs in the Warrington and Cheshire area is in the Good Beer Guide 2020.
